Ithaca Stays Alive By Eliminating #14 Alma From World Series 5-4

Raleigh, N.C. -- The Bombers staved off elimination by rallying for a 5-4 win over # 14 Alma at the NCAA Championship Finals,. Ithaca, making the program’s sixth appearance at the World Series in 10
years, will face #3 Chapman in an elimination game.

A run in the bottom of the sixth allowed the Bombers to edge Alma after trailing 3-0. Freshman Stacy Pelesz (Hudson/Livingston) scored an unearned run after collecting a pinch-hit single. Senior Maddie Kraemer (Kittatinny Regional/Newton, N.J.) drove in two runs. Freshman Nicole Cade (Beaverton/Portland, Ore.) earned the win in relief, striking out five in five innings while allowing just five hits and one run.
